The Animals that Saved Christmas

   he reindeer were dancing up and down as Santa San sprinkled some flying dust over them and the sleigh. With tears of joy in his eyes this time, Santa smiled at Kai and said, "Oh, thank you Kai, my new friend, you have saved Christmas!" "Oh you are very welcome sir," said Kai. Then Santa asked Kai, "What can I do for you to show our appreciation? Surely there is something special that we can do for you?" Kai answered, "I just need some help to get back home to my water garden." 

   anta was amazed that Kai had asked for nothing else other than to go home. He thought for a moment then asked Kai another question. "Kai, would you like to come with us to deliver all the packages and then visit us at the North Pole?" Well, Kai was pretty excited about this, but Santa seemed to understand that Kai might miss his home and family and friends too much. So, he explained to him all about Santa Time, how even though he would be gone for a long time, it would be like he never left at all. Santa hooked up Kai to the harness of his sleigh right in front of Rudolf and sprinkled some flying dust on him and Kai rose and floated above the water. He could fly, he could really fly! 

   ith a crack of his whip, a shout of, "Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas," Santa then yelled, "Up, Up and Away!" They were off into the sky and Kai was leading the way.

   hrough the clouds, up and up they went. The storm was starting to subside when they approached a strange looking cloud. There in the middle was Santa's bag of presents, held up by a large balloon. Santa explained to Kai that this was his "Looner Zooner, a special balloon Santa deployed to keep the presents safe and protected in this cloud, right before they crashed. The sleigh and reindeer stopped in mid-air, right by the Looner Zooner. Santa placed the bag behind him in the sleigh and the Looner Zooner became dust and completely disappeared.

   he sleigh and reindeer and Kai and Santa took off and traveled the world and made every stop and all on time. The last stop was at Critter Valley where Jack & Miles the Christmas Ferrets and Leona the Christmas Lamb were all waiting. Kai met them and they all became fast friends, sharing with each other their stories of adventures with Santa. Then they all said their fond farewells and waved goodbye. Kai, the reindeer, the sleigh and Santa were off and almost before you could blink, they were at the North Pole.

   ai spent the whole year at the North Pole on Santa Time, even though it was only a moment to the rest of the world. But Kai was happy and he kept very busy. Santa made Kai his very on water garden.

   ai was invited to and even practiced flying with the reindeer during their reindeer games.
