(Part I continued)

ust like Santa had promised, the whole year of Christmas Time at the North Pole was filled with magic and wonder. And just like Santa promised, the year went by so quickly, Jack and Miles had no time to miss their family 'business.' But on the morning of the following Christmas Eve, they were excited and ready to be joined back together in their family 'business." Jack and Miles sounded out a lot of happy 'dooking' that morning, "Chippy, chippy, chee-ree, chee-ree." they sang. They were happy and ready to go home!

his particular year was a very good year for good little girls and boys, the whole world over. Santa had a list and he checked it twice to see who had been naughty and who had been nice. Santa was so surprised, he not only checked that list twice, he checked it thrice (three times)! Why did he check the list 3 times? Because he could hardly believe his eyes! There were no children on the naughty list. Not a single one. They had all been good that year! Now as most people know, the naughty kids get a lump of coal in their stockings. But not this year!

ell, Santa was so excited, he started to laugh and sing and skip and dance and he tripped and slipped on a piece of coal. He broke his leg and started to cry, not so much from the painful fall, but he knew what this meant. Children all over the world would be disappointed and after, "they had all been so very good this year," Santa sighed.

fter his fall, Santa was rushed to see Dr. Dockey (the North Pole Elf Doctor). He set Santa's broken leg, put it into a cast and fitted Santa with two crutches. Santa called a special meeting with Mrs. Claus, all the elves and the reindeer at the Toy Shoppe. Everyone gasped as they saw Santa standing in front of them on those crutches. Can you gasp? Hold your hand over your mouth and make the sound of 'O.' Then, not a sound could be heard as Santa gave them all, a very sad announcement.

anta with tears in his eyes said, "We're going to have to cancel Christmas as you can see, I just won't be able to deliver all the toys this year. And this makes me so very sad, because all the children have been so good this year! Not one child is on the naughty list!" The room was still silent after Santa spoke. Then up popped Jack and Miles and said in unison (all together at the same time)-

"We'll deliver them for you Santa, we can DO IT!!!"

anta thought about this only for just a moment and said, "Well sure you can! That would be lovely! And the reindeer know the way. All you have to do is point and say, "Ho, Ho, Ho and the reindeer will take you to everywhere you need to go."

o they all shouted for joy and got busy filling Santa's bag with all the toys and hooking up the sleigh bell harness. They got the reindeer all ready to go. Everything was nearly all set. There were just two things left to do. First, if Jack and Miles were to fill in for Santa, they had to look the part.

rs. Claus made Jack and Miles each their own, special little Santa Suit.

very year there is always, 'The First Gift of Christmas,' that Santa gives. This year, there would be two and it would be one for Jack and one for Miles. It was a gift of Santa's appreciation to Jack and Miles, for saving Christmas.

nside each box was was a silver bell, just like all the ones on his sleigh. After all, it was a silver sleigh bell that brought them to the North Pole in the first place.
